Aimee Johnson serves as the Costume Shop Supervisor for Gainesville Theatre Alliance. She holds a BFA in Theatrical Design and Technology from The University of Central Florida, and an MFA in Costume Design from The Pennsylvania State University. Aimee’s past credits as a craft technician and wardrobe technician for Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, means that she brings a unique knowledge and skill set to the costume shop at GTA. Aimee has traveled the country, and (in smaller part) the world, in search of more theatrical knowledge and artistic growth. Past professional credits also include the resident Costume Design assistant at The Long Wharf Theatre, and staff positions at The Santa Fe Opera and Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL.
Ali Hooks serves as Assistant Technical Director for Gainesville Theatre Alliance. She graduated from the University of North Georgia with a BFA in Design & Technology for Theatre in 2015, and has worked at the Alliance Theatre as a carpenter and stagehand. Ali was the Stage Supervisor for the Utah Shakespeare Festival from 2015 to 2017. She has served as Technical Director for the recent GTA productions of The Ugly Duckling, The Bra and Panty Club, Avenue Q, Noises Off, The Tempest and Songs for a New World.
David Becker grew up in the Buford and Lawrenceville, GA area and is a graduate of the University of Georgia. David spent several years working in regional theatre in south Florida before moving to Atlanta to take up industrial and corporate theatre endeavors. He serves as GTA’s Technical Director and has been with GTA for over a decade.
Joslyn Hilliard serves as GTA’s Managing Director and UNG’s Theatre Department Business Officer. As Managing Director, Joslyn manages the annual budgets for GTA as well as the accounts payable/receivable, contracts, and purchasing for the organization. She also acts as company manager and department administrator, supports recruitment efforts, and oversees the operations and policies of box office, front of house, and marketing. Joslyn has 30+ years’ experience in the financial and not-for-profit management fields and studied at Auburn University and IUPUI. You can find her between 9 am and 5 pm in her office, but she spends her non-work hours with her husband, David, and their young adult children. Both Joslyn and her husband are avid Premier League soccer fans (Go Chelsea!!). Joslyn likes ice cold pilsners, cheesy Italian & Mexican food, and chocolate. You’ll also find that she’s a big Harry Potter fan and a bit of a nerd with her books and games…and she’s just recently been bitten by the travel bug (London, Paris, Miami Beach, NYC!!).
