Jayme McGhan

Jayme McGhan is the Head of Theatre at UNG and the Artistic Director of GTA. He is primarily a playwright in his professional work, but has also served in numerous productions, both professionally and educationally, as a director, scenic designer, technical director, actor, and numerous other roles.

Jayme is the author of over twenty full-length plays that have been widely produced and developed across the country at such theatres as The Kennedy Center, Washington Shakespeare Company, Irish Repertory Theatre, Chicago Dramatists, New Light Theatre Project, A.D. Players, Saltbox Theatre, Stage Left Theatre, Yellow Tree Theatre, Hot City Theatre, Cleveland Public Theatre, Cockroach Theatre, and many more. He is a resident playwright emeritus at Chicago Dramatists, a former Artistic Associate of Stage Left Theatre (Chicago) and company member of Vegas Theatre (Las Vegas), a former board member of multiple theatre companies across the country, and the former Regional Representative of the Dramatists Guild to the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul).

Jayme previously served as the Dean of the School of Fine Arts at Houston Baptist University, the Director of the School of Stage and Screen at Western Carolina University, and the Artistic Director and Head of Theatre at Concordia University, Chicago. He holds an MFA in Playwriting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a BA in Theatre Arts from Southwest Minnesota State University.
